Layout & Design: Built in 1979 and refined over the years by Ed Ault, Tom Clark (2005), Bill Love (2009), and Tyler Rae, Herndon Centennial highlights well‑bunkered greens, water hazards, and subtle elevation changes for strategic play.
Yardage & Difficulty: The back tees play to 6,197 yards with a course rating of 69.7 and slope of 126. Other tees range down to about 5,029 yards with adjusted rating/slope values.
Playing Season: Operational year‑round, with the high season running approximately March 15 through November 30.
Practice & Training Facilities
Herndon Centennial features a fully stocked driving range with 14 hitting stations and target practice areas, a short‑game complex with dedicated chipping and bunker areas, and an expansive bent‑grass putting green (~11,000 sq ft). A professional teaching staff offers lessons and clinics year‑round.

A pro shop carries brands like Titleist, FootJoy, and Nike, plus offers club re‑gripping and USGA handicap services
Rental clubs and golf carts (powered and pull carts) are available; walking is permitted; metal spikes are not permitted
Snack bar / casual dining is provided by Egg Karne (menu includes sandwiches, hot dogs, salads, etc.). A beverage cart operates on busy days. Indoor dining overlooks the course, with a patio view of hole 18.
